Started out of necessity...

Goff's Curtain Walls was born in 1985 when Bob Goff, Tony’s father, expanded his autobody shop to 14,000 square feet. “He was having a difficult time separating parts of the paint shop” says Tony. “People were priming in the open. There was wet sanding in adjacent areas. Guys were buffing cars. All of these contaminants were flying around and conflicting with each other.” Bob realized that if he could put up a flexible curtain to separate different shop tasks, he’d be more productive than ever before.

Tony Goff was a 19 year old ambitious marketing student...

“My Dad told me about his curtain wall idea and told me if I liked it, I could market it to the body shop industry” said Tony. Armed with features/benefits literature as well as black and white photographs, Tony and Bob visited the Society of Collision Repair Specialist Trade Show held in Toronto. “We walked around without a booth. We would hand out the flyers to the people at the show. We came back with our first order. A shop in Texas said they had an immediate need for our product,” recalls Tony.

Managed from a card table...

Between 1987 and 1990, Goff’s Curtain Walls was managed from a card table in the corner of Bob’s autobody facility, then out of Tony’s childhood home, located next to the autobody shop. In 1995, they built their first manufacturing facility. Between 1995 – 2006 grew 600% in sales. In 2012, after ranking on Inc. Magazine’s list of fastest growing private companies in America 2 years in a row, Goff’s moved from their 20,000 square foot facility, down the street to a 67,000 square foot facility. With the increase in production capabilities the company released 3 new products that year.

Goff's delivers more than you expected...

Goff’s product line has diversified over the years and now includes the Original Goff’s Curtain Wall, Welding Curtains & Screens, High Speed Vinyl & Mesh Roll-up Doors, Strip Doors, Acoustic Curtains & Screens, Air Craft Curtains, Food Processing Clean Curtains, Strip Doors, Privacy Screens, Climate Curtains, and more. The business that started with a product to help collision repair shops now serves food processing, aviation, manufacturing /material handling, welding and the industrial door market to name a few. Tony sums it up, “We’ve been very fortunate to have partnered with so many great distributors in so many different markets; without their help over the years we never would have gotten off the ground!”
